Privacy Policy

Web AZ is a website platform run by VM Tech in British Columbia, Canada (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use webaz.ca, Web AZ Builder (app.webaz.ca) and the websites we host for our clients, and how we handle it. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address, business name, phone number, and your password (stored only in scrambled form) and two-step login settings.
• Your website content: the text, photos, videos, prices, hours and other details you add to your website.
• Billing details: your plan, invoices and payment status. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we do not see or store your full card number.
• AI co-worker chats (Pro plan): the questions you ask and the changes you request, so the AI co-worker can help you and our team can follow up.
• Connected accounts: if you connect Instagram or another service, the access it grants us (for example, reading your posts to show them on your website). You can disconnect at any time.
• Technical information: log-in times, IP addresses and basic device information in Web AZ Builder, used to keep accounts secure.

Visitors to webaz.ca and to our clients’ websites

These pages do not use tracking cookies, advertising trackers or analytics scripts. Like any website, the network that delivers the pages (Cloudflare) processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver them securely. Embedded maps or videos (for example Google Maps, YouTube in privacy mode, Vimeo or TikTok) are provided by those companies under their own privacy policies. Each client is responsible for any information their own business collects, for example through their booking provider.

How we use it

• To run your account, build and publish your website, and provide support.
• To bill you and keep records we are required to keep.
• To keep Web AZ secure, including detecting unusual log-ins.
• To send service messages, such as renewal reminders or security notices. We only send marketing emails if you agree, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

We never sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

Only with service providers that help us run Web AZ, under contracts that require them to protect it:

• DigitalOcean (servers for Web AZ Builder, in Toronto, Canada)
• Cloudflare (delivery of websites, domain names and security; worldwide network)
• Our payment provider (card payments)
• An AI provider for the AI co-worker (Pro plan only)
• Services you choose to connect, such as Instagram

Some of these providers may process information outside Canada, where it may be accessible to authorities under local laws. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and website content while your account is active. After you cancel, we keep your website files for 60 days so you can come back or download them, then delete them. We keep billing records as long as tax law requires (in Canada, generally six years).

Security

Web AZ Builder requires a two-step login for every user. Published websites are plain pages without a login page or database. Photos are cleaned and re-saved when uploaded. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you and the authorities about any breach as the law requires.

Cookies

Web AZ Builder uses only the cookies needed to keep you logged in and protect forms. webaz.ca and our clients’ websites set no cookies of their own.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw your consent, by contacting us. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
